Traditional Sauna Electrical Requirements

Traditional electric heaters are high-load fixed equipment. The heater and control system must be matched to the room and installed to the exact manufacturer documentation.

SaunaVerdicts take: Select the heater from adjusted room volume first, then price the required electrical work. Do not reverse the process by choosing a breaker size and shopping for the biggest heater that fits it.

6 kW is already a substantial load

Harvia currently lists the KIP60W as a 6.0 kW 240V heater for 170–300 ft³. HUUM lists DROP 6 at 6.0 kW, 25 A on 240V with a 30 A breaker in its current US manual.

Controls may be separate

Some heater variants use built-in controls; others require a separate control unit. That changes wiring and parts planning.

Clearance is part of electrical planning

Heater placement, sensor placement and required clearances can determine where conduit and controls can actually go.

Final installation
